My Semester so Far

It has been awhile since I last blogged. Though on a technical note, that is not true. You see, I am currently working as a blogger for my school. And no, I would not post the link here as my posts there does not sound like me at all :) So yeah, blogging has basically became more of a job to me than of a leisure like it used to be. And to think about it, I am two posts behind on it right now :/

So anyway, enough of that. As most of you would know, I went back home for the summer! woo hoo for that! And now that I'm back in Michigan. I'm starting to get sick of the constant cold here and is starting to miss the warmth back home. Though ironically I could almost bet myself that I would think otherwise if I'm home :p

Things have been going fairly well here I suppose. My life here is definitely much smoother now than it first was.

So a couple of updates! I am currently the secretary of my school's SIFE team, as well as one of the head leaders of my school's International Student Union (ISU) team. I am also in my school's production team called Epic, where they produce episodes online. I am not really active in Epic due to time constraint. But it is fun to be able to work with the camera and behind the scene stuffs :) so my schedule is mostly filled with meetings meetings and more meetings. and classes of cos. heh. Apart from that, my semester so far is pretty mixed up. Being that I have decided to take most of my general classes. Zoology being one of them, and I'm absolutely loving that class! Probably cos it mostly has got to do with animals :) I am most definitely active in the gym. In fact, most people seem to know me for that. haha. I'm starting on a new 52 weeks workout though and I'm already almost one month in! Hoping to get results pretty soon! Also, I'm currently working as an accompanist! Yes I get paid to play for others to sing. hehe.

And yes, I just have to say this, but, I have been to Cedar Point!! World's top amusement park! where the world's best steel roller coaster is located, as well as the world's fastest and highest coaster. and i'm proud to say that I've sat them. woo hoo!

Oh! and I've finally been to my first homecoming dance, experienced my first fall/ autumn, joined my first jazz band, and rode a bull! :) well fake one lah. haha. So many new experiences and more yet to come! It's great! I'm ready for snow!

So I have a study group to go to in about 15 minutes. That's probably why I've decided to finally update this blog of mine. To waste some precious time :p

On a final note, I'm excited to meet up some old friends over Christmas break in Texas! Can't wait :) Though I would most definitely prefer ingraining my buttocks for 28 hours on an airplane seat back home to see the boyfriend again. But he can wait till next summer :p Patience ya dear!

till next time! Maybe a long time. who knows? hehe.

Summer Reflections

I haven't updated this dusty site for a long long time. And I guess it's finally time to add another page of my life into this blog of mine.

I have spent a semester here in SAU and returned home to Malaysia for the summer. And in full honesty, it wasn't planned at all. My dad just happened to decide to fly me back home one day. Reason being that I couldn't find a job for the summer. But I guess everything really does happen for a reason. And even by going back, I found myself learning more. I even managed to get myself a job back in Malaysia! Well two to be more specific. My first job was to be an international student representative, going around schools to introduce my school. The second was pretty temporary as I was working as a sales person in the Maybank Treatsfair.

By coming home, I was also fortunate enough to join Pesta. Even though I've been in bb for some time, I've never really got to join Pesta as a participant. I have always been a spectator. but now that I had my chance, it truly is a blessing I must say.

And of cos I returned to 10th KL. How couldn't I? hehe. Went back to visit my choir too!

I also got to go to some trips with a couple of friends. For one, I went to Broga Hill with my cell mates at 4 in the morning. Insane? yes. But definitely worth it. I went straight to skytrex after that for the NCO outing though. Skipped lunch as I didn't have enough time. I was running purely through adrenaline, and boy was that exciting! :D

Another few exciting trips I went was definitely to Sungai Chiling and to Bukit Tabur! Went there with my beloved boyfriend and another couple. Sort of like a double date. It was fun! we had our own small picnics there and the sceneries were definitely breathtaking.

Finally I was really really excited on my trip to Genting with the boyfriend, and best of all, the bestfriend! and her boyfriend of cos. heheh. so it was another double date! Arn't they the best? It was great! despite how bored I may be of Genting, it felt so good being able to hang around with the bestie once again!

But my highlight of my summer has definitely got to be each second spent with the beau and the family. And through this I have learned that you just can't take the little things for granted. Every second and all the little things we take for granted matters. And that goes for everyone too.

Now that I'm back in Spring Arbor, and that my semester is starting again real soon, I am excited. But going home and coming back again shows me how much I really miss home, and teaches me to appreciate everything I have. When I'll be back again? well.. who knows? It might just be unexpected again.. Just wait for it :) heh

Health Matters

Just a little something I found while doing research on my health paper. Thought it was hilarious enough to share it to you! enjoy :D

In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth and populated Earth with broccoli, cauliflower and spinach. Also green, yellow and red vegetables of all kinds, so Man and Woman would live long and healthy.

Then using God's great gifts, Satan created Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream and Krispy Kreme Donuts. And Satan said, "You want chocolate with that?" And Man said, "Yes!" And Woman said, "As long as you're at it, add some sprinkles." And they gained 10 pounds. And Satan smiled. And God created the healthy yogurt that Woman might keep the figure that Man found so fair. And Satan brought forth white flour from the wheat, and sugar from the cane and combined them. And Woman went from size 6 to size 14.

So God said, "Try my fresh green salad." And Satan presented Thousand-Island dressing, buttery croutons and garlic toast on the side. And Man and Woman unfastened their belts following the repast.

God then said, "I have sent you heart-healthy vegetables and olive oil in which to cook them." And Satan brought forth deep fried fish and chicken-fried steak so big it needed it's own platter. And Man gained more weight and his cholesterol went through the roof.

God then created a light, fluffy cake, named it "Angel Food Cake" and said, "It is good." Satan then created chocolate cake and named it "Devil's Food."

God then brought forth running shoes so that His children might lose those extra pounds. And Satan gave cable TV with a remote control so Man would not have to toil changing the channels. And Man and Woman laughed and cried before the flickering blue light and gained pounds.

Then God brought forth the potato, naturally low in fat and brimming with nutrition. And Satan peeled off the beautiful skin and sliced the starchy center into chips and deep-fried them. And Man gained pounds. God then gave lean beef so Man might consume fewer calories and still satisfy his appetite. And Satan created McDonald's and its 99-cent double cheeseburger. Then said, "You want fries with that?" And Man replied, "Yes! And super-size them!" And Satan said, "It is good!" And Man went into cardiac arrest.

God sighed and created quadruple bypass surgery.

Then Satan created HMOs.

Revolutionary

Meet spidy. A spider I found above me while I was on a video call with my parents. It's huge isn't it?? And see those pom poms on her fangs? so cute right! :D I wanted to keep it, but my room mate didn't like that idea, so I decided to release her on the staircase, in hopes that it may return again :p Though when my floor mates found out, they freaked out. haha.

So it's finally getting warmer here! Snow is melting, spring should be popping out soon! It's not so freezing outside anymore. But it's awfully foggy today though. It's so hard to see! It is definitely thicker than those mists you get on Genting just so you guys were wondering. It's like way worst here. Feels like a samara may pop out anytime! hahaha

The best part here is though. STRAWBERRIES ARE EVERYWHERE! They're cheap too! And they can grow as big as my palm! And they're all so sweet!! Not just strawberries though, every type of berries are common here. Blueberries, raspberries, cranberries, etc. Berry heaven la really. I'm loving it :D

Had my first symphony band concert too! it was on monday. Went surprisingly well. Though it was pretty boring lah. Cos most of the songs are not trumpet based =/ I think I may be majoring in piano performance though. and I have to practice 14 hours a week. which is pretty crazy. And not having my own piano to play like I used to gets pretty annoying as well. I also have this crazy piece I have to learn and memorize for my recital. The video is below just so you know how crazy it is. hehehe. Wish me luck!

Spring break is almost here! I can hardly wait :)

Imprints

You don't love someone for their looks,
or their clothes, or for their fancy car,
but because they sing a song only you can hear,
and leave beautiful footsteps in your heart.

I miss you.
